Michigan Duo, 8 Kilos Of Heroin Seized In The Hudson Valley: Cops
A Grand Rapids man and a woman from Wyoming, MI are in custody in New York.

YONKERS, NY — Two Michigan residents accused of bringing several million dollars worth of heroin laced with fentanyl to New York are under arrest. Javier Lozano of Grand Rapids and Olga Lozano of Wyoming, Michigan were picked up in Yonkers Monday by agents of the DEA and Yonkers Police Department's Narcotics Unit.
Both are 54, police said.
Investigators, special agents and detectives conducting surveillance of Central Park Avenue north of Palmer Road stopped the two in a rented car Jan. 14. Drug sniffing K-9 dogs yielded sufficient probable cause to obtain a search warrant, police said.

Both Lozanos were charged with one count of first-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A-I Felony. They were sent to the Westchester County Jail.
“The rampant use of opioids brings illicit profit making opportunities to dealers everywhere,” said Ray Donovan, DEA Special Agent in Charge, about the man and his ex-wife who brought eight kilograms of heroin/fentanyl to New York for resale.
Police said the drugs found constitute about 200,000 individual ‘decks’ with a street value of several million dollars.
“Working together with our Federal, State, and Local partners, the Yonkers Police Department is committed to removing dangerous drugs from our communities," Police Commissioner Charles Gardner said in an announcement about the bust. "Seizing this heroin will no doubt save lives and these arrests send a clear message to those who would traffick drugs through our City: you will get caught, you will get arrested, and you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The DEA’s New York Drug Enforcement Task Force Group T-12 comprises agents and officers of the DEA, New York City Police Department and New York State Police.
“I want to commend the work of our members along with our partners on the New York Drug Enforcement Task Force," State Police Superintendent George P. Beach II said. "Through their efforts, we have prevented a significant amount of heroin from reaching the streets, and arrested those responsible. We simply will not tolerate this type of activity anywhere in New York State.”
The case is being prosecuted by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
