Of Tattoo Parlors And Microbrews: Michigan City Among The Hippest
MoveHub.com ranked the Top 20 hipster-friendly places across the nation. See what cities made the list.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – You've probably recognized this about Grand Rapids: It's got a certain hipness about it. And, the folks at MoveHub.com, a web site that helps people move to new places around the globe, has ranked this Michigan city as one of the Most Hipster Cities in the Nation.
Yay. But, what the heck does that mean, you ask? Good question.
MoveHub went about defining hipster-friendly towns, first by defining what a hipster is – "a subculture of 20- to 30-somethings who position themselves as non-mainstream pioneers; free-thinkers and non-conformist conformists." Secondly, the web site detailed places of a town that hipsters frequent – microbrews, tattoo parlors, thrift shops and vegan stores, and the inflation rate on rent.

Grand Rapids comes in at No. 9 on MoveHub's rankings. It's 6.11 microbreweries and 8.65 thift shops per 100,000 people helped it achieve the ranking. As far as tattoo parlors, there are 4.58 parlors for every 100,000 people.
