Fall Used Book Sale at Cromaine Plus More Tips for the Week Ahead

Here are four tips to help fuel your week in Hartland.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Hartland to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Save the date

Come see the large assortment of books.  Hardcover and paperback, fiction and non-fiction, self-help, cookbooks, biographies, dvds, and children's books....it's all here!  Sponsored by the Friends of Cromaine Library, all proceeds are used to support library programs.

2. For the kids
Registration for the 2013-14 season of HAYAA Basketball has begun.  Go to hayaasports.com/basketball to register.  Be sure to read our information page to find out about the league and to get the dates and times for travel tryouts and in-house evaluations.

3. In the community
Together with Hartland Consolidated Schools and the Hartland Area Chamber of Commerce, Hartland Township is undertaking a community branding initiative and the first step is to hear from residents.  Public focus groups are scheduled for Monday, Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and will be held at Biggby Coffee in Hartland.

4. Local voice of the week

There are other ways to achieve a solution in Syria and Iran, and the United States needs to start seriously pursuing them and leading the rest of the world to do the same. I say, “Good riddance to the military option.” Mares Hirchert
