We have been trying since Aug. 14 to get either the Livingston Press and Argus or Rep. Mike Bishop to hold a Town Hall meeting in Livingston County concerning the upcoming vote in Congress on Sept. 17 on the Iran Nuclear Deal.
We hoped that Rep. Bishop would appear in person, not using robocalls, and explain his reasons why he is against the deal and listen to his constituents’ reasons for wanting/not wanting the deal. It seems un-American for Rep. Bishop to take an AIPAC (American Israeli Public Affairs Committee) sponsored trip to Israel on Aug. 8 to talk in person with Israeli government officials and not talk in person to his American constituents back home in his district.

Polls taken in the U.S. say that the majority of American Jews for the deal is even higher than the majority of Americans who are for the deal: www.tomdispatch.com/blog/176039
Are the Republicans representing their constituents or are their votes being bought by the over $20-$40 million dollars being spent by AIPAC?
Or is the unanimous Republican opposition being fueled by the Republican congressional vendetta against President Barack Obama? “Playing the Long Game on Iran, The Neoconservatives, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Republicans Game the System” by David Bromwich, Sterling Professor of English at Yale, is posted at the link above, Aug. 23.
Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s decision to vote for the Iran Nuclear Deal in support of our U.S. president showed patriotism and statesmanship. Rep Bishop?

Comment by Mares:
Senator Peters from MI has now endorsed the Iran Nuclear Deal, why isn’t there one Republican from MI willing to vote for diplomacy? War hasn’t worked since 9/11/2001 to bring peace. Iran never did say it wanted to destroy Israel but the media keeps repeating it. Iran said in 2005 that Israel will implode from within, Iran has never attacked Israel. In fact, Israel’s Mossad are responsible for secretly killing Iranian nuclear scientists. Iran has been pursuing nuclear energy since the 1950’s. It is Israel that has a secret nuclear weapons program and refuses to allow inspections. Why the media doesn’t explain this to Americans is the real mystery!
