Dakota Hockey Awaits Ike in Regional Semis

After overtime victory over Rochester Adams, Dakota gears up for MAC Red Division rival Eagles in state playoffs.

Thanks to Matt Riehl’s heroics, Dakota’s hockey team stayed alive in the state tournament. Now the Cougars must prepare for a showdown against Eisenhower on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Mount Clemens Ice Arena.

Riehl scored in overtime to lift Dakota to a 4-3 victory over Rochester Adams on Monday, according to MIPrepZone.

Dakota, No. 9 in the Division 1 state coaches poll, shared the MAC Red Division championship with Eisenhower this season.

Now the Cougars and the Eagles will vie in the Division 1 regional semifinals. At stake will be a berth in the regional championship game Saturday, March 2.
