LCMS-N Students Raise Serious Cash

Students raise in excess of $27,000 for school programs and activities


Students at L’Anse Creuse Middle School — North raised more than $27,000 during its annual Fund Run/Walk-a-thon Sept. 25.

The money raised goes directly to programs and activities for students that fall outside the school’s general budget.

According to L’Anse Creuse Public Schools, the entire student body at the school took part in the event, soliciting pledges from family, friends, neighbors and local businesses.

Students walked around the high school’s track listening to music and enjoying refreshments during the event.

Prizes, including a pair of X-Box One game systems, A Wii mini and Beats headphones, were awarded to students at the event.

“The support from our community and the enthusiasm of our student body was astounding,” said LCMS — N Principal Brian Fahning said in a release. “This year our school raised $10,000 more than years past. These funds will be given to athletics, our band program, Science Olympiad, the student morning announcement program, annual events such as Celebration of Excellence, awards ceremonies, four spirit weeks, school dances, and the annual Metropolitan Beach Friendship Day.”
