Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2016: Macomb Community College Plans 2 Days Of Service

Over 500 Macomb Community College students will do everything from write letters to members of the military to help at a food bank.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI — Hundreds of Macomb Community College students are honoring Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in two special days of service across Metro Detroit.

Roughly 500 students, staff and faculty members will spend January 14 and January 16 volunteering at area organizations ranging from the Detroit Rescue Mission to Forgotten Harvest to the Veterans Administration. Volunteers will devote their time and energy doing everything from writing letters to members of the military to helping at food banks.

Macomb Community College is also planning a ceremony on Martin Luther King Jr. Day at 8:00 a.m. in the John Lewis Student Center at the Warren campus.
