Macomb County Start-Up Disrupts Painful Auto Purchase Process

Dealer-free service eliminates traditional hassles and barriers of new vehicle ownership

Macomb County start-up Brian Carroll Automotive Group is quickly disrupting the traditional vehicle-buying process by giving consumers what they want most – savings in time, money, and effort.

Having worked in the auto industry as a sales professional for 30 years, owner Brian Carroll of Macomb understands first-hand the pain points consumers face. His experience as a sales professional witnessing everyday consumer frustrations with the vehicle acquisition process was the catalyst for Brian Carroll Automotive Group.

“The automotive industry is so fast-paced and dynamic with a slew of vehicle brands, models, equipment, pricing, and other options available to a consumer,” said Carroll. “We know that buying a new or pre-owned vehicle can often be a stressful, confusing, daunting, expensive, and time-consuming task.”

The service provided by Brian Carroll Automotive Group represents a growing need to disrupt the traditional dealership model based on consumer desires. According to a 2018 Cox Automotive study, buyers are least satisfied with the long purchase process. On average, customers spend three hours at the dealership when they purchase a vehicle. Almost half of that time is spent negotiating or doing paperwork.

One recent study also found that shoppers spend about four months researching cars online. Principal pain points for those who buy from a dealer are the deal negotiations and salesperson pressure, according to one Auto Trader study. Less than one percent of shoppers described the car buying process as their ideal experience.

Since opening his business last month, Carroll’s soup-to-nuts service has taken off benefiting hundreds of consumers across metro-Detroit who immediately see the value. “So long spending four hours in a dealership buying a car,” said Barb Stull of Clinton Township. “Brian Carroll Automotive Group has completely changed the car buying game.”
