Missing Macomb Teen’s Remains Found In Shallow Graves
Two people have been charged in the murder and disinterment and mutilation of missing teen Stephen McAfee's body.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI — The remains of a Macomb Township teen missing for more than a year were discovered Thursday in two shallow graves, providing at least some answers to his anguished parents. Police discovered the dismembered body of Stephen McAfee, 19, after getting a tip from a woman who shared a confidence from the ex-girlfriend of the man accused of killing him, Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said.
McAfee was last seen around 2:30 a.m. on March 13, 2016. Police followed up on tips, public spaces were plastered with missing-person posters, a reward was offered and McAfee’s parents hired a private investigator. The case went cold.
The break in the case came Wednesday during an interview with a woman who came to the sheriff’s office with her father and shared a secret she had been told. Eevette Macdonald, 18, of Shelby Township, told the woman she had helped her ex-boyfriend, Andrew Fiacco, 19, of Ray Township, dispose of McAfee’s body, Wickersham said in a news release.

Macdonald and Fiacco were arrested after police received the tip, and both provided additional information about where McAfee’s body had been buried, Wickersham said. On Thursday, police searched property surrounding Fiacco’s home in Ray Township and found the teen’s skull and lower extremity remains, the sheriff said. At a vacant Bruce Township lot in the 34 Mile and Van Dyke area the same day, Wickersham said, a lower jaw bone and clothing positively identified as McAfee’s were found.
The motive for this crime is unclear as Fiacco gave multiple stories, Wickersham said.

On Friday, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office issued warrants charging both Fiacco and MacDonald. No charges will be brought against the woman who tipped off police, Wickersham said.
Fiacco is charged with four felonies: first-degree murder, felony firearm, disinterment and mutilation of a dead body, and lying to a police officer. Macdonald is charged with three felonies: accessory after the fact to a felony, disinterment and mutilation of a dead body, and lying to a police officer.
Both were arraigned Friday in 42-1 District Court in Romeo. Fiacco was ordered held without bond, and MacDonald’s bond was set at $20,000 cash/surety. Both are due back in court at 1:30 p.m. on May 23.
McAfee’s family has requested that their privacy be respected during an emotionally difficult time, Wickersham said.
