MOD Pizza Opens Third Location in Shelby Township

"Pay What You Want" fundraiser will benefit the Chippewa Valley Educational Foundation

TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR), a Michigan-based family-owned restaurant group with an expansive portfolio of casual, quick service and family dining restaurants throughout the state, will celebrate the grand opening of its third Shelby Township MOD Pizza restaurant on Thursday, April 26 with an all-day “Pay What You Want” fundraiser. The new Shelby Township restaurant opened to the public on March 24 and is located at 15089 Hall Road between Hayes Road and Schoenher Road. TSFR Brand Leader of MOD Pizza Jake Schostak made the announcement.

“At MOD, we make pizza so we can serve people. We call it Spreading MODness,” said Schostak. “Each of our MOD Pizza grand openings provides us with the opportunity to spread MODness, not just with our guests, but with organizations like the Chippewa Valley Educational Foundation who work to improve education in our communities. We’re eager for the Shelby Township community to join us for this great event and help this great organization.”

The “Pay What You Want” event will begin at 10:30 a.m. and run through dinner service. Guests can pay an amount of their choosing for their meal, with all proceeds going to the Chippewa Valley Educational Foundation to aid in its mission to achieve excellence in education through support of world-class educational opportunities that benefit and enrich Chippewa Valley Schools.

“Our dedication to education goes beyond the classroom,” said Tim Tomlinson, president of the Chippewa Valley Educational Foundation. “It’s events like this one that advance our mission and allow us to encourage innovation at Chippewa Valley Schools, offer unique opportunities and change the lives of our students and their families. We’re excited to partner with TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants and MOD Pizza for this exciting event.”

MOD Pizza uses fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces, including MOD red sauce and MOD white sauce. Guests can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of 30 featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Each pizza is hand-cooked in an 800-degree oven in just minutes, and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD Pizza also serves local draft beers, wine, handspun milkshakes and house-made lemonades and iced teas.

Through multiple community initiatives, fundraisers and scholarship programs the Chippewa Valley Educational Foundation is committed to achieving excellence in education by allocating private resources that supplement traditional funding and providing students with the resources they need to be successful in the Chippewa Valley School District.

In late 2014, TSFR announced its plans to launch 25 MOD Pizza locations in Michigan over the next five years. Since then, TSFR has opened its first 10 MOD Pizza locations in Livonia, Northville, Rochester Hills, Woodhaven, Brighton, Canton and Chesterfield, and three in Shelby Township. Another location is underway in Troy. For more information on TSFR and its MOD Pizza locations, visit www.teamschostak.com.
