Provision Living To Open New Independent Living Center In Macomb

Provision Living plans to spend $40 million on a new senior community in Macomb Township.

Provision Living released plans for a new $40 million upscale senior housing development in Macomb Township, next door to St. Isadore Church on 23 Mile Road. The new development will offer independent living, assisted-living and memory-care services in a community setting, according to Provision Living.

The company obtained a special-use permit specifically for senior living centers, which will allow for development of up to 217 housing units. Provision Living plans a 200,000-square-foot development comprised of about 75 assisted living units, 30 memory care units and and 100 independent living units. Seniors will have options, in terms of space, with units ranging from studios to 2-bedrooms. The community will offer therapy space, salon services, a communal dining room and a movie theatre, along with landscaped outdoor spaces.

The planned facility could offer as many as 100 new jobs in Macomb Township, according to Provision Living. The St. Louis company owns and operates senior communities in Kentucky, Missouri, Michigan and Mississippi. Existing Provision communities include University Senior Living in Ann Arbor and Provision plans to open a new community in West Bloomfield by the end of 2018.
