Weekend Planner: Macomb Township Concert in the Park, Bowling Fundraiser, Bridal Expo

Gearing up for weekend fun in the Macomb Township means exploring local options for individuals and families. Here's a rundown of some things to do this weekend: 

Free concert in the park: Cut loose with jams, presented by Macomb Township Parks and Recreation Department, at 7 p.m. Thursday in Town Center Park.

Bowling fundraiser: At 5:30 p.m. Friday, the public is invited to bowl at Imperial Lanes on Garfield to help raise money for the Merill family after they lost wife and mother Kelly Merill, 39, to cancer. The cost is $20 per adult and $10 per child for two games and shoe rental. The event features door prizes, 50/50 drawings and raffles.

Brides To Be Show: The bridal event starts at noon Sunday at the Italian American Society Banquet & Conference Center, 43843 Romeo Plank, where wedding professionals will be on hand to talk to guests about their services. For ticket information, visit the show website.

Aquapalooza, dubbed the "largest on-the-water concert event in America" is from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday-Sunday off the shores of Belle Maer Harbor in Harrison Township on Lake St. Clair. 

New Baltimore Farmers Market, the popular market off Washington Street is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays through Oct. 13. The Michigan Bridge Card/SNAP/EBT is accepted along with Double UP Food Bucks.

Yoga in the Park, from noon to 1 p.m. Sundays through September Santosha Yoga offers free yoga in Walter and Mary Burke Park in New Baltimore. Participants should dress comfortably, bring mats, water and non-perishable food items for the St. Mary Food Pantry. All levels and ages welcome.
