School Closing And Delay Info For Macomb Twp

Parts of Metro Detroit can expect up to three inches or more of snow this week, per the National Weather Service. While three inches isn’t generally an issue for most Michigan cities and towns, it does signal the time of year when parents will want to have all school delay and closing info sources close at hand.

In Macomb Township, Chippewa Valley Schools maintains a Snow Days web doc, complete with information about Detroit TV and radio stations, as well as the following spots on your cable TV dial where you can find the schools’ Chippewa Valley Cable channel:

As for the weather, here's what the National Weather Service is predicting for tomorrow and Wednesday:
Tuesday December 12
Light snow (< 1 in.) in the morning and breezy throughout the day. High 32, low 11.
Chance of precipitation: 69%. Wind 18 mph from the NW
Wednesday December 13
Breezy in the morning and snow (1–2 in.) starting in the evening. High 21, low 11.
Chance of precipitation: 27%. Wind 12 mph from the WNW
Light snow is predicted Wednesday, but the real issue may be the freezing temperatures and even colder-seeming windchill. Remember, schools sometimes close because of extremely cold temperatures, so be sure to check before sending little ones out to the bus, set them on their walk to school, or before driving them, even when there’s little to no snow.
