Anchor Bay, Chippewa Valley Schools Report Higher Enrollment
Two Macomb Districts Show Growth, While About Half Of County Schools Had Lower Numbers

According the Macomb Daily, newly released student population figures show that while 11 of 21 public school districts in Macomb county showed declining enrollment, Anchor Bar Schools and Chippewa Valley Schools actually gained pupils this fall. Though this is good news for Anchor Bay, Chippewa Valley and other area schools who made gains, schools with lower enrollment may face declines in funding, too.
Macomb Daily explains “Enrollment is important to schools because it determines per-pupil funding from the state – the so-called “foundation allowance” – that is the financial lifeblood of public schools.”
