Baker College of Port Huron awards $2,500 Ed Kurtz Scholarship to Jennifer Kosel

Scholarship awarded annually for academic achievement and either a commitment to community service or a balance of work, family and school.

Baker College of Port Huron officials have announced Jennifer Kosel, of Port Huron, is the recipient of the 2016 Ed Kurtz Leadership Scholarship award.

The $2,500 scholarship is awarded annually to a Baker College of Port Huron student who demonstrates academic achievement and either a commitment to community service or a successful balance of work, family and school obligations.

“Jennifer is a great example of how to excel in school, at work and at home, which is what this scholarship recognizes,” said Dan Kenny, Baker College of Port Huron director of admissions. “It is an honor to recognize Jennifer’s hard work and dedication and to wish her continued success as she pursues her degree.”

Kosel is a full-time student with a 3.76 GPA in the Bachelor of Business Administration-Accelerated program, and plans to graduate in 2017. She also holds a full-time position at Target, utilizing her breaks to study and do homework so she will have more quality time to spend with her family.
