Baker College of Port Huron CIM graduates 18 during medallion ceremony

The CIM presented medallions to Institute's first recipients of associate degrees in food and beverage management and baking and pastry.

The Baker College of Port Huron Culinary Institute of Michigan held a medallion ceremony for 18 graduates, including the first to receive associate degrees in food and beverage management and baking and pastry.

The ceremony was held Thursday, June 9, and speakers included Patricia A. Kaufman, Ed.D., Baker College of Clinton Township president.

“This is an exciting time for the CIM as we watch our second graduating class go out into the world to share their talent and knowledge,” said Thomas F. Recinella, CEC®, ACE, AAC®, HGT, program director and COURSES Restaurant executive chef at the CIM Port Huron. “It is gratifying to experience our graduates seeing their dreams come true.”

Among the many businesses hiring 2016 CIM graduates are the famed Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Geyserville, California, Blue Water Winery in Carsonville, Champps of Livonia, and Andiamo Pastry Shop in metro Detroit.

The CIM Port Huron offers associate degrees in food and beverage management, baking and pastry, and culinary arts and certificates in baking and pastry. The first culinary arts program graduating class was in 2015.
