Christmas Dinner Theater Nov. 24-25 in Richmond

"A Christmas Story" at Maniaci's Banquets on Thanksgiving weekend

It's that time again for a Richmond holiday tradition, the Christmas Dinner Theatre held every Thanksgiving weekend at Maniaci's Banquet Center, 69227 Main Street, Richmond. Doors open at 6 p.m.; dinner is served at 7 p.m., curtain at 8 p.m. Nov. 24-25.

This year, Richmond Community Theatre and Maniaci's Banquet Center present “A Christmas Story,” written by Jean Sheppard.

Advance tickets only at Richmond Flower Shop, 69001 N. Main St., Richmond, 586-727-1011, or at Maniaci's Banquet Center, 586-727-9727. Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under.

This event kicks off the holiday season for so many theater-goers and brings back loyal fans year after year for a special night out. Your night begins with being served a delicious dinner, then the cast will entertain you in this beloved story of nine-year-old Ralphie Parker and his Christmas wish. You get to relive the excitement Ralphie's dad experiences when he wins an unusual and unique prize.

Kristine Howell is directing this delightful cast of characters who will entertain you and fill you with holiday memories of being a child, and your own Christmas wishes.

“Richmond Community Theatre is in its 52nd season and it continues to support the surrounding area with the community theater experience,” Howell said. “In this show our cast hails from all over Macomb County – St. Clair Shores, Grosse Pointe, Shelby Township, Macomb Township, New Haven, Richmond, Lenox, Casco, Columbus, Chesterfield, Memphis and St. Clair County – Wales, Kimball, and Marysville.

“I cast a young lady, Isabelle Cracchiolo, as the little brother Randy. However she has very thick, long hair, too much hair to put into a wig. So I asked her if she would cut it for the show. Not only did she cut her hair but she donated it to Wigs-4-Kids, a truly charitably minded 10-year-old.
