Crews Rescue Man Stuck in Elevator

A squirrel apparently got into electrical equipment at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suite in Chesterfield Township Sunday morning.

The critter apparently chewed through wires which led to the demise of the squirrel and a power outage that trapped a man in the elevator of the hotel located near Hall Road and Gratiot Avenue.

Police and fire crews responded to the trapped guest and freed him without much trouble, according to the Macomb Daily.

DTE technicians were able to restore power to the hotel not long after the incident.
