'Dinosauria' Exhibit Held Over at Detroit Zoo: Watch

Forty animatronic dinosaurs that snarl and move (and some that spit) will continue to entertain Detroit Zoo visitors for two more weekends: Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 12-13 and Sept. 19-20, 2015.

“Dinosauria,” which has welcomed more than 250,000 guests since it opened on May 22, initially had been slated to end on Labor Day.

Presented by Kroger and Michigan Education Savings Program, Dinosauria is the largest dinosaur exhibit of its kind in the country. Detroit Zoo visitors enter a veritable “Zoorassic World” as they travel back in time along a lush, winding, 5-acre DinoTrail recreating prehistoric life. Enormous prehistoric creatures lurk at every turn, including adult dinosaurs, youngsters and even a nest with eggs and hatchlings.

Dinosauria is open Saturday and Sunday only, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Sept. 20. Tickets are $5 with Detroit Zoo admission for visitors ages 2 and older and are available at main admissions, the Dinosauria ticket booth or online.

The prehistoric adventure continues with two experiences at the Wild Adventure Zone in the Ford Education Center. “Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure 4-D” is featured at the 4-D Theater and “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs – The Ride” is showing at the Simulator Ride. Tickets for both experiences are $5 with Detroit Zoo admission and are available at main admissions, the Wild Adventure Zone ticket booth or online.
