Macomb County Man Fatally Struck by Train
Police said the driver of the train saw the man lying on his back on the tracks, but was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting him.

CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — The driver of a train spotted a man laying across the train tracks in Chesterfield Township around 10:45 p.m. Sunday night, but was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting the man, a 25-year-old resident of Macomb Township, police said.
The train was northbound near 24 Mile and Chesterfield Road, Chesterfield Police Det. Sgt. Deron Myers said. The man was lying on has back, and his vehicle was found in a nearby Meijer parking lot, according to a news release from the Chesterfield Police Department.
The man's identity hasn't been released.
