Motown Museum Conducts Third Annual Motown EDU Summer Camp
Five-day camp open to deserving metropolitan Detroit high school students designed to educate and inspire artistic teens
Motown Museum, in conjunction with the Skillman Foundation, Don Bosco Hall Youthville Detroit and the Detroit Memorial Park Association, announced today it will host its third annual Motown EDU summer camp August 8-12, which is open to deserving metropolitan Detroit area students. Robin R. Terry, Chairwoman and CEO of the Board of Trustees of Motown Museum, made the announcement.
In an effort to encourage artistic expression and the entrepreneurial spirit that was critical to the Motown Records legacy, the camp will offer metro Detroit high school students between the ages of 13 and 18 interested in songwriting, singing, instrumental composition or any other area of music, the opportunity to focus on their talents in an inspiring, historic and artistic environment.
Attendees will enjoy five days of customized curriculum focused on hands-on activities, including studio time and lessons on branding, stage presence and musical production. Adding to their experiences, campers will connect with presenters like Rhonda Ross Kendrick, actress, jazz vocalist and daughter of Berry Gordy and Diana Ross, as well Don Bosco Hall Youthville music producer and disc jockey instructor Morris Porter.

It is our hope that students in our community will join us for this one-of-a-kind experience this summer.”
