CHESTERFIELD TWP., MI — Michigan State Police say a man was arrested Wednesday night after driving 118 mph and claiming he was a police officer.

According to Michigan State Police, troopers running radar on I-94, near 23 Mile Road, spotted a vehicle traveling at 118 mph in a 70 mph zone. Troopers got behind the vehicle, which did't have a license plate, and attempted to stop it, police said. The driver refused to stop and troopers terminated the pursuit, police said.

The vehicle was seen again in New Baltimore, according to state police. Troopers attempted another traffic stop when the suspect drove in reverse, eventually backing into a private driveway, police said. Troopers blocked the driveway and took the man in custody, according to police.
