Police Seek Suspect in Rash Of Baby Formula Thefts

Chesterfield Township Police are asking for information about a suspect they say stole hundreds of dollars worth of baby formula.

A man stole baby formula valued at $190 and $140 in separate incidents, according to Chesterfield Township Police. The alleged thefts occurred on Jan. 25 and Feb. 9 at the Target store at 51400 Gratiot Rd.

On Jan. 25 at 6:28 p.m., a man entered the Target at 51400 Gratiot Rd., grabbed cans of baby formula off a shelf, and put them in a backpack before walking out of the store without paying. Police say the formula is valued at $190. The same suspect was videotaped taking baby formula in two separate incidents at the same Target on Feb. 9, when he took approximately $140 worth of baby formula from the store. Police say the man fled on foot in the direction of the Georgetown Apartments.

Police describe the suspect as a black male in his 50s with a thin beard, about 6 feet tall and 190 lbs, wearing a black jacket, royal blue hooded sweatshirt and a black hat with an unknown logo.
