A special initiative began Thursday, but guess what teen drivers are getting instead of tickets.

The only ticket they’ll be getting – as long as they’re obeying traffic laws – is a $5 gift certificate to fast-food restaurants.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office has teamed with State Farm Insurance to distribute about 200 gift certificates to Taco Bell, Subway and McDonald’s to reward good driving habits, including wearing their seat belts, coming to a complete stop, using turn signals and following speed limits.
