2 Men Cited for Trespassing at Northville Psychiatric Hospital

Police found the men with a large amount of scrap metal, according to the police report.

Northville Township police provided this information.

Northville Township police cited a Detroit man and a Warren man on charges of trespassing onto the former psychiatric hospital property around 7:30 a.m. Nov. 9, according to a police report.

Police found the men on the property, 41001 Seven Mile Road, with a truck backed up to a door of one of the buildings, the report said. The officers found a large amount of scrap metal in the flat bed of the truck.

The men said they came to the property to get scrap metal because “times are tough” and they are having money troubles, according to the report.

Officers discovered that one of the men had a criminal bench warrant out for his arrest from Plymouth’s 35th District Court, the report said. They arrested him.

They both have a hearing Nov. 27 at 35th District Court and were told that future violations would result in additional prosecution, according to the report.
