Aisin Celebrates Opening of North American Headquarters in Northville

The world's leading manufacturer of automotive components expects to add 51 jobs in Northville in the coming months.

Aisin World Corp. of America, the world’s leading supplier of brakes, transmissions, navigation systems and other automotive components, plans to add up to 51 jobs with the opening of its new North American headquarters at 15300 Centennial Drive in Northville.

A ceremony featuring traditional Japanese drumming and dance marked the opening of the new headquarters, the Observer & Eccentric reports. At the same time, Aisin World Corp. of America CEO Mike Saito presented a $50,000 check to Township Supervisor Bob Nix to help with the building of a Community Park pavillion on Beck Road.

“Today’s activities are symbolic of Aisin’s continuous investments in it’s customers and in the state of Michigan,” said John Koenig, the president of sales and marketing. “The new North American headquarters for AWA and ATCA will enable our team to provide increased levels of efficiency, engineering services and product development for the benefit of our customers.“

Aisin has invested $250 million in Michigan since 1984, according to company officials. Aisin has operations in Arbor, Plymouth, Fowlerville and Northville Township employing nearly 700 people  people. Aisin employs more than 80,000 worldwide across its 180 companies.

Koenig expects strong growth over the last few years to continue.

“We not only outgrew our facilities, but it became logistically challenging to have our team located in two separate buildings,” he said. “Now we’re all under one roof, which will improve team communication and ensure that our company vision – ’To be an irreplaceable global partner to our customers’ – is maintained.”
