Nancy Cassis, conservative Republican candidate for Congress, today announced she will run in the September 5 to represent the current 11th congressional district.

“As a fiscal conservative, I’m extremely disappointed at the cost this election will incur for the taxpayers,” Cassis said. “And I’m especially disheartened that the cost and extra burden are being placed on the local clerks. However the Governor made the decision and this Special Election is going to take place.”

Cassis continued: “When Thad McCotter failed to make the ballot, I answered the call to be the conservative voice for the citizens of the 11th Congressional district by mounting a write-in campaign. Now that McCotter has resigned and the election has been called, I want to make sure the citizens of this district have the representation they deserve for the remainder of this term. I know I can make a difference by fighting for conservative principles: working to create Michigan jobs, fighting to repeal ObamaCare, and reining in excessive government spending."
