Northville City and Township Democratic Caucus Set

Now comes the Democratic National Caucus to Northville,and caucusing can be fun, according to Lisa DiRado, vice-president of the Northville Democratic Club, which is sponsoring this caucus. The official Democratic Caucus for Northville City and  Northville Township will be held on Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m at the Northville Senior Center, 303 W. Main St., next to the library in downtown Northville.

The caucus location, one of some 200 in the State, begins check-in at 9 a.m. and (next to the library in downtown Northville) concludes with voting at 11 a.m. at the Senior Center, located next to the Library in downtown Northville.

Residents of the City of Northville and of Northville Township will have separate voting areas at the caucus. Residents only need to attest that they are or will be age 18 orolder and registered to vote by the November 6th election.

 The number of caucus voters in Northville determines the number of Northville delegates for the Democratic National Convention, who then will choose the Democraticnominee for the November 6th Presidential election.

However, those arriving at the caucus site may not recognize it at first.  In addition to thefood and beverages and lively decorations, plans call for a full-size President Obamacutout to pose for photos with those who bring their cameras, some fun games, a"Why I'm a Democrat" booth and other light-hearted activities to pass the time until the climactic voting hour, 11 a.m.
