- Submitted by the Northville Township Fire Department
On Sunday, July 15, firefighters from the Northville Township Fire Department participated in the “Fill the Boot” fundraising campaign that benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Firefighters collected $2,038, more than double last year’s total. MDA is an organization
dedicated to finding a cure for muscular dystrophy. The money collected will go to finding a cure for 40 neuromuscular diseases, as well as medical treatment, research and adaptive equipment and summer camps.
Through the annual “Fill the Boot” event, firefighters across the United States and Canada have been a major contributor to the Muscular Dystrophy Association since 1952, raising more than $350 million. The event is successful thanks to hundreds of motorists who stop to put money in fire boots.
Northville Township Firefighters and IAFF Local 3961 would like to thank all of the citizens, commuters, and local businesses of the community for their generosity that made this worthy event such a huge success.
