Brightmont Academy Founder Shifts Focus to College Students

Ruth Wilson, founder of the innovative one-to-one school Brightmont Academy, steps down to launch private practice serving college students

Ruth Wilson founded Brightmont Academy, an innovative accredited private school that uses a one-to-one instruction model exclusively, back in September of 1999. By pairing one teacher with one student throughout every learning session, the education program can be customized to fit that individual student. Today, the organization has grown and currently operates 11 campuses in Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington State. In Michigan, Brightmont has campuses located in Plymouth at the border between Plymouth and Northville, and in Birmingham.

After many years dedicated to helping students earn a high school diploma, Wilson now intends to focus on improving success rates at the post-secondary level. She is stepping down from Brightmont Academy in February of 2018 to launch a new organization to assist college students with solving the academic, personal, financial, and emotional issues that often become barriers to completing college. While there are many supports available to help students gain admission to college, too frequently, they flounder once there and college completion rates are surprisingly low.

Wilson thanks those she's worked with since the inception of Brightmont, and celebrates helping over 4,000 students experience success, earn diplomas, complete credits, and master new skills through mastery-based instruction. She can be contacted here on LinkedIn , or on Instagram as @ruthwilsoneducator.

The incredible life-changing results achieved at Brightmont can be directly attributed to the all of the people working tirelessly behind the scenes," says Wilson.
