A cappella chorus guest night is Jan. 14

The 98-member a cappella chorus is preparing songs for Sweet Adelines International competition Oct. 12-17 in Louisville, Ky.

The 2020 theme for the Motor City Blend Chorus is "Run for the Roses." The 98-member a cappella chorus is preparing songs for Sweet Adelines International competition Oct. 12-17 in Louisville, Ky. in SAI’s 75th jubilee year. Learn about the group at motorcityblendchorus.com.
All are welcome to attend a guest night at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14 (Jan. 21 in case of inclement weather on Jan. 14) at Orchard United Methodist Church, 30450 Farmington Road, Farmington Hills.
Guests are welcome at all regular Tuesday night rehearsals. Car pools are available from many areas, in Michigan, Ohio and Canada. In fact, members hail from three Ohio counties and 13 Michigan counties; and Canadian members come through both Windsor and Sarnia. There are four mother-daughter pairs and four pairs of sisters in the chorus.
Co-directors are LeAnn Hazlett from Swanton, Ohio, and Sylvia Karpinsky from Sterling Heights, Mich.
Ahead on the group’s calendar are: entertaining at the local Sweet Adelines regional convention and competition on May 2, and learning Christmas and holiday songs for a show in December.
