Crime Report: Alleged Liquor Thief Thwarted, Stolen Mail

W-2 forms stolen from mailbox
A woman on the 39000 block of Springwater Drive in reported that mail had been stolen from her mailbox on Feb. 1 sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
According to Northville Township police reports, the woman left her home to run errands, saw her mail and decided to leave it until she returned. When she came back, it was missing.
She told police that W-2 income forms were missing. A neighbor of hers had also mail stolen from home, she said.

Attempted liquor theft, wallet stolen at Meijer store
- An 18-year-old Northville man was arrested by township police on Feb. 5 after he was caught trying to steal three bottles of liquor from on Haggerty and Eight Mile roads, according to township police reports.
The man was seen by store security stuffing his shoulder bag with a $12 bottle of whiskey, a $15 bottle of Captain Morgan rum and a $30 bottle of tequila.
He was arrested for larceny. He was taken to the township police station and was processed, photographed and fingerprinted before being released on a $300 bail, according to township police reports.

- A Farmington Hills woman reported to Northville Township police that on Feb. 4 her wallet had been stolen while she was in the bottle return area in the back of the same Meijer store.
Police asked if she was sure she did not just lose her wallet. Police attempted to review tapes but Meijer does not keep cameras in the bottle return area, according to the police report. She told police "suspicious people" were in the area at the same time her wallet went missing.
She told police that she had credit cards, $75 in cash and her ID card in the wallet.
