Hardworking Student, Kela, Graduates Early from Brightmont Academy Northville Campus

In January of 2016, Kela began attending Brightmont Academy, a private school for students in grades 6-12 that uses a one-to-one instructional approach. She wanted to get some homework support during her junior year of high school. It did not take very long for the teachers on campus to notice that Kela was a hardworking, dedicated student and that she would be a perfect fit for Brightmont Academy. By the beginning of her second semester of her junior year, Kela enrolled as a full-time student taking advanced classes in Math, Chemistry, Language Arts, History, and the Humanities. She fulfilled all graduation requirements and has already earned her diploma even before the end of the school year because of her hard work and the one-to-one instruction model at Brightmont that allows students to move through curriculum at their own pace. For Kela, this was a fast pace!

Anyone that meets Kela will instantly know that she has a very outgoing personality; she puts others at ease and is always eager to be challenged. During her senior year, Kela was dual-enrolled at both Brightmont Academy and Schoolcraft College. She has already earned some college credits that she plans to transfer to Eastern Michigan University, where she plans to major in Music Therapy.

While studying at Brightmont Academy, Kela also earned a black belt degree in Taekwondo. She continues to volunteer and teach students at her dojang (taekwondo school) as well as work part-time. In addition, Kela is a talented musician, playing trumpet in the Schoolcraft College Jazz Ensemble.

We are very proud of Kela’s accomplishments at Brightmont Academy and wish her much luck and success as she moves on to the next chapter of her academic life!
