Investigation Closed: Missing Woman Found, Officials Say

Officials conducted land and air searches after a Bedford Township teen went missing Aug. 7. But now they say the girl, Hayley Turner, 18, has been found.

Turner was reportedly on the phone with a friend when she told the friend she was being followed by a man with a gun near the intersection of Dean Road and Crabb Road, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Turner’s unaccompanied vehicle was found on Dean Road.

She was found in Ecorse about 50 miles from where the alleged abduction took place, the Monroe Sheriff’s Office reported Sunday.

According to a post on the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office facebook page, Detective Sergeant Jeff Paul along with an FBI agent interviewed the alleged victim and have determined that the incident never happened.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is closing the investigation.
