Some of the witnesses of the incident, which unfolded about 10:30 p.m. at the Walmart Store on Ford Road, thought the Airsoft pistols Nance reportedly pointed as he allegedly tried to steal two vehicles were real handguns.

One potential victim was able to drive away, but Nance got inside another individual’s Honda Accord. He reportedly was unable to operate a stick shift, though, and police were able to apprehend him. Nance allegedly falsely claimed he had placed a bomb in the vehicle, police sid.

The Airsoft pistols were allegedly stolen from the Walmart. An employee told police he had hidden them in his pockets and, when asked to pay for them, aimed them at both employees and customers.

Nance was still in jail early Wednesday afternoon on $500,000/10 percent bond. He could be released if he’s able to make $50,00o bail. His probable cause hearing will be held Sept. 25.

If convicted of the charges, Nace could face life in prison.
