Northville Township police arrested around 2 a.m. Oct. 29 a 25-year-old Plymouth man for a misdemeanor warrant on charges of failing to appear in court, according to a police report.
An officer saw a black 2003 Honda Civic on southbound Sheldon Road, north of Six Mile Road, with an expired license plate, the report said. The officer stopped the driver who said he did not renew the plate because of money problems, according to the report.
The man did not have a driver’s license, vehicle registration, or proof of insurance with him and instead offered his U.S. passport for identification, the report said.

The officer discovered through the Michigan Law Enforcement Information Network that the man’s license was valid but also found that he had an active arrest warrant for failing to appear at 35th District Court, according to the report.
The officer arrested the man and cited him for having an expired plate, no proof of insurance and no driver’s license with him, the report said. So far in 2013, he had been cited three times before for an expired plate and for no proof of insurance and one prior time for having no license with him, according to the report.
