Police Arrest Northville Man on Charges of Driving While Intoxicated

Police were called after the 29-year-old man got into an argument with his parents, the police report said.

Northville Township police arrested a 29-year-old Northville man Oct. 25 on charges of driving while intoxicated, according to a police report. 

An officer was dispatched to the 39000 block of Village Run for reported family trouble and was told the man was leaving the area intoxicated in a white Ford Taurus, the report said.

The man told the officer that he is an alcoholic and had been sober for a long time but started drinking again, which caused an argument with his parents, according to the report. He said he had six beers that day, the report said. 

His preliminary breathalyzer test had a result of .16 percent blood alcohol content, according to the report. The legal limit is .08 percent.  After he was arrested and taken to the station, his chemical test had a result of .17 percent blood alcohol content, the report said.

He was charged for driving with a blood alcohol content of .17 percent or more, according to the report. He paid a $300 bond and has a hearing Nov. 6.
