Speeding Stop by Northville Police Yields 2 Arrests and Carrying Guns While Intoxicated Charge

A 25-year-old Wayne man and a passenger in his car were both arrested on July 28 after police stopped the car and discovered both were intoxicated and carrying concealed weapons, according to city of Northville police reports.
An officer first noticed the car when it was driving 53 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, according to the report. The incident occurred on South Center Street near the Main Street intersection.
Police said they could smell intoxicants on the man and that he could not perform several tasks during his sobriety check including a heel-to-toe walk.

According to the report: Police searched his vehicle and found that he had a .40 caliber Glock in the car. His passenger, a 22-year-old Southfield woman, also had hidden a second gun in the car, according to the report.
The driver's blood alcohol content was at .12 and his passenger's was at .09, according to the report. The legal limit in Michigan is .08. Both were cited for carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated.
