Funeral Service And Visitation Set For Couple Killed In Fire
Funeral service and visitation has been setup for the couple that died in a fire in their home on Friday Dec. 15

NOVI, MI- A funeral service is planned for the couple that died in their home in a fire on Friday Dec. 15.
61-year-old Barbara Garner, and her 66-year-old husband Kenneth Garner were identified as the residents of the house that caught fire.
The couple had both died from smoke inhalation, and burn injuries according to the Oakland County medical examiner's office. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Novi Fire Department.

A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 340 North Pontiac Trail, Walled Lake, with interment at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, Novi. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, as well as Friday from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
The Garners are survived by a son, Ryan, and a daughter, Dakoi. A Go Fund Me account as been set up by Barbara Garner's co-worker to help assist the children that the Garners leave behind.

A house fire on Friday Dec. 15 in Novi has killed two people in their home.
Firefighters from Novi and Walled Lake had responded to the call when the fire started just before 8 a.m. to the house located on East Lake Drive near Endwell Street. Authorities are saying that the fire had started in the basement, and that smoke had spread through the house. The couple's bodies were found on the second floor.
The Novi Fire Department worked alongside the Walled Lake Fire Department to assist in extinguishing the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown, the Novi Fire Marshal is working with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Fire Investigation Team, along with The Medical Examiner's office to determine the cause of the fire and the cause of death.
