Adopt An Animal At The Novi Pet Expo

NOVI, MI — While it’s going to be a cold weekend across Metro Detroit, there will be plenty of warmth at Novi’s Suburban Collection Showplace. It will play host to the 13th Annual Novi Pet Expo through Sunday and offer the opportunity for a little entertainment and chance to adopt a dog or cat.

According to show organizers, the idea is to get as many animals adopted into loving homes as possible. The Michigan Humane Society and numerous other rescues and breed-specific shelters will be on to help make that goal a reality.

Besides adoptions, pet owners can get their animal micro chipped, work with on-site trainers, pick up a toy or two and treats for their pets. A full slate of entertainment is planned, too, including:

• Stunt Dogs Productions - The Perondi’s dogs have been featured on National Television numerous times. They have been guests on talk shows such as: the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Oprah Winfrey Show, Queen Latifah Show, the Early Morning Show, Good Day L.A., Good Day Sacramento, “Home and Family” on the Hallmark Channel (2x’s) and Sabado Gigante on Univision.
• Sara Carson - Joining Stunt Dogs team this year is Sara Carson, who has trained thousands of dog owners and trainers around the world. At the age of 12, Carson advanced her dog-training skills using YouTube videos as a guide.
• Rock-N-Roll K-9's - You will witness a variety of breeds in every color, shape, size and age, as well as everyone’s favorite, the All American Mix. Our experienced handlers work side by side with their own personal loving companions, each one providing talent and skills that make every Rock-N-Roll K-9 show unforgettable.

The Michigan Humane Society will be on site during the Expo and will discount a full adult admission $2 with donation of pet food or needed supplies, which include:

• Any unopened, unexpired dog/puppy and cat/kitten food; wet or dry, in original packaging/container.
• Cat litter
• Pet-Safe Brand dog toys, especially their Busy Body line including their Squirrel Dude and Buddy Barnacle items.
• Catnip-based mice/toys
• Non-porous toys
• Fleece blankets are a slice of heaven for homeless pets! 18” by 18” or so for cats, for dogs, 3’ by 3’ is just about right.

The Suburban Collection Showplace is located at 46100 Grand River in Novi. Admission for Adults and children 12 and older is $10, ages 6-11: $5 And children 5 and under are free.
