Back-To-School Shopping Trip Leads To Gun Being Pulled At Novi Wal-Mart

Police say a fight over a notebook led to the gun being drawn.

NOVI, MI — What started out as a back-to-school shopping trip at a Novi Wal-Mart nearly turned into tragedy Monday. A pair of South Lyon women got into an altercation with a Farmington Hills woman over a notebook, according to a Detroit News report. A 51-year-old South Lyon woman pulled a gun and aimed it at the Farmington Hills woman, but didn’t fire.

“Baetens said no arrests were made nor were any tickets issued. However, he said investigators have submitted their case to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office for review and it could authorize charges against the parties involved in the incident.”
He said if charges are authorized against the women, they could range from assault to felonious assault with a firearm. "It could be anything," he said. "It's up to the Prosecutor's Office."
