Crash Forces Amputation Of Novi Man's Leg
A Novi man lost part of his leg Thursday as the result of a crash.

NOVI, MI — A 22-year-old Novi man suffered serious injuries — including a partially amputated leg — after an accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Beck and 10 Mile roads. The man was riding a Honda motorcycle heading northbound on Beck Road when he was struck by a vehicle turning onto eastbound Ten Mile from southbound Beck.
Novi Police Chief David Molloy told the Oakland Press the accident occurred at about 3:20 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, a Mercury Milan, was a 69-year-old Novi woman, Molloy said. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
“The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Beaumont Botsford Farmington Hills Hospital after lifesaving efforts at the scene by Novi Police and Fire personnel,” said Molloy. “The patient is in stable condition at this time.”
