Novi Acquires Land For Trailhead Park

The acquisition was funded with a $402,500 grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and a contribution of $172,500.

NOVI, MI – The city has finalized the acquisition of 12.5 acres at the southwest corner of 9 Mile and Garfield roads for the ITC Regional Trailhead Park, officials announced Wednesday. The acquisition was funded with a $402,500 grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and a contribution of $172,500.

The ITC Trail is scheduled to be completed in 2018, and will run from the south side of town to the north side. It will enable walkers and bicyclists to travel between different parks and communities instead of riding or walking along roads.

The trailhead park could include parking, restrooms, a bike repair station, a play structure, outdoor fitness stations and/or a shelter to service the ITC Corridor Trail.
