Novi Elementary Students Donate Gifts to Detroit School

Students at Novi's Deerfield Elementary School donated gifts to students at the Academy of the Americas in Detroit through Bridgepointe.

Deerfield students donated 182 nail polishes, 208 chap-sticks and Lip Smackers and over 200 stuffed animals, according to an email to parents. Each of the 736 students at the Academy of the Americas received a bag of gifts at a party at the school on Dec. 11.  

"The children were all excited and grateful and the smiles on their faces will not soon be forgotten," the email said. 

Bridgepointe is a non-profit charitable organization based in Detroit whose mission is to bring together school children from the city and suburbs.
