Novi Hires Public Services Director
Jeffrey Herczeg comes to Novi after a 12-year career in Auburn Hills as the Deputy Director of Public Works for the last five years.

NOVI, MI - From The City of Novi: The City of Novi has hired Jeffrey Herczeg to serve as the Department of Public Services Director. Herczeg comes to Novi after a 12-year career in Auburn Hills where he worked as the Deputy Director of Public Works for the last five years. He started in Auburn Hills in 2005 working general maintenance before being promoted to operations supervisor and then Manager of Public Utilities before taking on his current role.
“I'm really excited about joining the Novi family in one of Michigan's premiere municipalities,” Herczeg said. “I look forward to leading the dynamic and progressive team at the Department of Public Services, and will continually strive to provide the highest level of service to the community and its residents.”
Herczeg will head a productive department and oversee four functional divisions – field operations, fleet asset, water and sewer and engineering. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University and has completed the Michigan Public Service Institute (MPSI). He holds an S-2 Water Distribution license and has served on the board of the American Public Works Association- Michigan Chapter.

Assistant City Manager Victor Cardenas has served as the interim Director of the Department of Public Services for nearly a year as the City searched for a new department head. Herczeg will start in his role on November 27, 2017.
