NOVI, MI — A 27-year-old Novi man has been accused of possessing child pornography following an investigation by the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the agencies announced Monday.
Andrew Joseph Keith was arraigned Friday in 52-1 District Court on five counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime, according to the Michigan State Police. Authorities said Keith was issued a $25,000 cash bail and lodged in the Oakland County Jail.
The investigation began early this year, when police said they became aware of Keith possessing upward of 50,000 files concerning child pornography. Further investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his home in Novi led to his arrest, police said.
