Novi Prepares To Light Up The Night
Family and friends come together for the holiday event on Friday, Dec.1.
From the City of Novi: The City of Novi is excited to Light Up the Night and celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. Light Up the Night will take place on the Novi Civic Center campus on Friday, December 1, from 6 to 9 pm. Mayor Bob Gatt and a special visitor from the North Pole will light the holiday tree at 6:15 pm with fireworks starting promptly after (weather permitting).
In addition to the tree lighting and fireworks, Light Up the Night attendees will enjoy a craft show; family activities and games; s’mores; petting farm; miniature train rides, ice sculptures; reindeer; live entertainment featuring Mexico Lindo Ballet Folklorico, Family Self Defense Martial Arts and Novi Middle School Orchestra and John the Magician.
New for 2017, all activities will take place at the Novi Civic Center. The tree lighting will take place on the lawn to the southeast of the Civic Center building. Light refreshments such as cookies and s’mores will be provided at no charge. Food trucks will have items for sale.

“This is truly one of my favorite nights of the year,” said Novi Mayor Bob Gatt. “We are a very special community and this doesn’t just happen. It’s the people here who make it so great, and seeing everyone come together at Light Up the Night is a great way to kick off the holidays.”
Light Up the Night is supported by numerous Novi businesses including Feldman of Novi, ITC, Ryder, DTE, Community Financial, Spalding DeDecker, Family Self Defense Center, McDonalds, Novi Town Center, and Aqua Tots. Opportunities to be involved in the event are still available.
