Novi's Adi Sathi Named Top Influential Republican
The awards just keep on coming for Adi Sathi, a 2008 graduate of Novi High School.
From DOCOM Consulting: The awards just keep on coming for Adi Sathi, a 2008 graduate of Novi High School. This time, it’s Newsmax’s coveted “30 Most Influential Republicans Under 30” honor, as the former Wildcat and University of Michigan-Ann Arbor graduate earned the 20th spot on the exclusive list.
Here’s what Newsmax had to say about Sathi: “This 26-year-old Michigander is the vice chair of coalitions within his state’s GOP, one of the youngest members of the convention’s leadership. In addition, Sathi is an Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies legislative fellow in the office of Utah Senator Orrin Hatch, the Senate president pro tempore and chairman of the Senate Finance Committee.”
Newsmax’s rankings take into account each candidate's accomplishments relative to their age and seek to highlight emerging voices alongside established ones. The majority of the 30 young people honored come from political backgrounds — including a few who even hold elected office. They all possess a great influence in promoting Republican values that belies their ages.

This award marks the second time that Sathi has earned the Newsmax designation. In 2015, Sathi made the “Influential” list in the 18th spot.
“I am humbled and honored to be recognized by Newsmax again,” Sathi said. “It’s a wonderful award, but my greatest satisfaction is knowing that I was part of the campaign that saw the State of Michigan vote ‘Republican’ in the Presidential campaign for the first time since 1988. That’s the best reward ever.”

Sathi works for Senator Hatch, who serves as both the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate President Pro Tempore, making him third in line to the Presidency after the Vice President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Sathi earned his Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a focus on Community Organization from U-M in December 2014. He also graduated from U-M in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Community Action and Social Change.
Sathi grew up in Novi and has been a life-long resident of the Great Lakes State. Sathi transitioned his work in student government to the world of Republican politics after being elected to serve as one of the youngest committee members on Michigan’s 11th Congressional District Republican Committee. As both a member of the committee and a precinct delegate, Sathi has worked with the grassroots to help numerous Republican candidates get elected to office, including U.S. Congressman Dave Trott (R-11th District),
State Representative Kathy Crawford (R-38th District), Oakland County Commissioner Hugh Crawford (R-9th District), City of Novi Mayor Bob Gatt, Novi City Councilman Brian Burke, and RNC National Committeeman Dr. Rob Steele. Outside of politics, Sathi stays active in his community and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Financial Credit Union.
Sathi also is a recent graduate and Fellow of the prestigious Michigan Political Leadership Program (MPLP), based in East Lansing. The one-year program is run through Michigan State University’s Institute of Public Policy and Social Research (IPPSR) and identifies 24 individuals from across the state who are committed to community service and brings them together to engage in a public policy and leadership curriculum.
Sathi is well-known in the Big Ten Conference, having been elected the executive director of the Association of Big Ten Students. He was invited to the 2013 White House Youth Summit. The Association of Big Ten Students is an organization that consists of the 14 Big Ten schools from 11 different states and represents more than 540,000 students.
Earlier in last year’s election cycle, he was featured in a Fox Business story addressing the importance of millennial engagement by 2016 Presidential candidates.
