Novi's Hart A Candidate For Saline Police Chief
A 26-year veteran of the Novi Police Department, he is a finalist to become Saline's Police Chief.

NOVI, MI — Assistant Novi Police Chief Jerrod Hart is a finalist for the top job with the city of Saline, according to a MLive report. He is competing with Muskegon Public Safety Director Jeffrey Lewis for the job.
Hart has been with the Novi Police Department for 26 years. In 2012, he was promoted from lieutenant to assistant chief, according to a Novi news release.
Both candidates were scheduled to meet with Saline residents on Thursday, MLive reported. The community sits just south of Ann Arbor in Washtenaw County. The Saline Police Department has 13 sworn officers, including the chief.

Hart began his career with the Novi Police Department in 1991 after graduating from Ferris State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He holds a Master’s degree in Technology from Eastern Michigan University. In 2010, he graduated from the School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC) at Eastern Michigan University.
“We are very fortunate to have someone of his leadership and management capabilities within our organization,” Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police David E. Molloy said of Hart’s 2012 promotion. “He demonstrates a strong commitment to teamwork and our community, possesses a wealth of experience gained from working a variety of diverse assignments, and is committed to the mission, vision, and values of the Novi Police Department.”
