Police Arrest Novi Man on Charges of Driving While Intoxicated

Northville Township police arrested a 24-year-old Novi man around 2 a.m. Nov. 15 on charges of driving while intoxicated, according to a police report.
An officer stopped the driver of a 2013 Ford Focus near Eight Mile and Haggerty roads after seeing him weaving within his traffic lane, the report said.
The officer smelled intoxicants while at the driver’s window, according to the report. The driver said he was all right to drive and did not have a “whole lot” to drink, the report said. He said he was at the Wagon Wheel Lounge in Northville from about 1:30 to 2 a.m. and had two beers, according to the report.

His preliminary breathalyzer test had a result of .128 percent blood alcohol content, the report said. The legal limit is .08 percent.
The officer arrested the man. He paid a $200 cash bond and has a hearing Dec. 4 at 35th District Court, according to the report.
